Success Story of Rozzah Seder – Psychosocial Support Trainer in the Gaza Strip
“I never imagined that joining the 'Palestine Emergency Early Response' (PEER) project would mark such a profound turning point in my life. Living amidst the harsh realities of Gaza, I found myself searching for a glimmer of hope, and this project became just that. It wasn’t an easy journey, but it was one filled with growth, resilience, and the discovery of inner strength I didn’t know I had.
When the opportunity to participate in the project first arose, I was at a low point personally, struggling to even find the energy to speak. Yet, deep inside me, there was a faint but persistent voice encouraging me to take a step forward, to defy my fears, and to reclaim my confidence. That inner strength became my greatest ally, pushing me to embrace the unknown and confront the challenges head-on.
Through the training sessions, I wasn’t just providing psychosocial support to others—I was transforming myself. I came to understand the profound impact of small, simple acts—a kind word or a sincere smile—on lifting someone’s spirit. Witnessing how these gestures could inspire hope in others was nothing short of extraordinary.
There were countless memorable moments, but the most significant was the realization that I had overcome my own fears. Despite my initial hesitation and personal challenges I faced, I embraced the project wholeheartedly. My participation in the “PEER” project taught me a powerful lesson: your first and strongest supporter is always yourself. Every day spent in the project brought new opportunities to learn, grow, and push beyond my limits.
Looking back now, I see "PEER" as more than just an experience—it was a transformative chapter in my life. It gave me the courage to become a source of hope for others in communities across Gaza burdened by daily struggles resulting from the ongoing aggression.
To anyone feeling overwhelmed or powerless, remember: there is a reservoir of strength within you waiting to be discovered. Life may be challenging, but even the smallest gestures—a kind word, a warm smile—can spark hope, in others and in yourself.
