Participate in a Learning Journey: Developing Mechanisms of Social and Political Participation

About

This activity comes as part of “Political Mobilisers for Change II” project, in partnership with Norwegian People’s Aid. This project aims to increase the participation of youth and girls in decision-making processes through building their capacities to monitor the plans and policies of official institutions and to hold these institutions accountable to the people’s needs. This project not only seeks to inform policy-makers about the rights and needs of the citizens, but also to promote the values of good governance and transparency within the operations of local institutions. The project will build the capacities of its target groups in participatory processes and facilitation skills, using the Facilitating Reform Methodology. It will also develop their skills to hold decision-makers accountable and to monitor the responsiveness of public policies to the needs of their local communities through the formulation of policy papers and carrying out hearing sessions with various politicians, representatives of various ministries and local institutions as well as the Palestinian Liberation Organization.

The Palestinian Association for Empowerment and Local Development – REFORM is honored to invite you to participate in Learning Journey entitled, “Developing Mechanisms of Social and Political Participation”. This journey will:

E

Use the Facilitating Reform Methodology

To enhance the capacities of participants through learning how to apply scientific methodologies in social development, which includes social transformation and conflict resolution tools.

E

Teach participants about polarization and stigmatization processes

To learn how to deal with differences between individuals and groups and seeing it as an added value that promotes cultural diversity within Palestinian society.

E

Develop social incubators

To appreciate the differences between people, respecting views and ensuring pluralism.
