REFORM Implements a training workshop for preparing a strategic plan for Qarawa Bani Zeid Society Ladies Club

The Palestinian Association for Empowerment and Local Development – REFORM, organized a three-day strategic planning workshop in order to come up with a five-year strategic plan for Qarawa Bani Zeid Society Ladies Club. The training workshop took place at the Club’s facility in Qarawa Bani Zeid with the participation of the Club’s General Assembly, members and employees.

Mr. Ameer Jabareen, Project Coordinator at REFORM, said that the workshop comes as part of the REFORM’s vision in empowering the Club’s capacities that allow them to determine their strategic goals, which enhances their participation in public life, and also eases their engagement in development process through reflecting the needs and ambitions of their target groups.

The participants worked on identifying the main achievements and challenges the Club faced during the last years, and analyzed the institutional goals and the institutional context of the club’s work, in order to map out their arrangements for the next phase.

Ms. Sahar Arar, Chairman of the Club’s General Assembly, asserted the importance of this workshop stems from the Club’s urgent need for developing a specified strategic plan for the Club; one that fits their current and future agendas and is also executable. She also stated that this workshop comes in a time where the Club - upon 9 years of its establishment- needs to redefine its identity in the midst of the challenges that it’s facing, specifically those related to financing and operating expenses, and to their new Productive Kitchen project that will be officially operating in early 2018.

At the end of the workshop, participants identified the club’s five-year strategic directions, to be further reflected in the plan, through the upcoming projects and activities.

This training come as part of the Innovation Hub – “Hand in Hand” project which seeks to contribute to bridging the gaps between the various community components on both social and economic levels; providing a safe and interactive platform to enable all members of different groups of society to participate in decision making processes, especially youth and women; and to improve their living conditions by developing untraditional production patterns, enhancing cooperation and partnership between targets groups, and increasing social responsibility of the private sector.
