The President of Al-Quds Open University, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Shaer, met with a delegation from The Palestinian Association for Empowerment and Local Development—REFORM to reaffirm their ongoing partnership. The meeting, held on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, took place at the university’s headquarters in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.
Prof. Dr. Shaer expressed his pride in the strong and enduring collaboration with REFORM, highlighting the achievements they have accomplished together over the years. He remarked, “Your Association plays a pivotal role in empowering and developing our Palestinian society, creating pathways to unlock its full potential. What stands out to me is your unwavering commitment to advancing life and soft skills—an essential and noble goal.”
He further emphasized the university’s mission, stating, “At Al-Quds Open University, we focus on equipping students with the needed skills to thrive in the future, enabling them to become agents of positive change in society.” He concluded by expressing his aspiration for deeper collaboration, adding, “We look forward to building a fruitful and impactful partnership that will benefit our students across various disciplines and open new opportunities for growth and development.”
In response, Ms. Carmen Kishek, Vice Chairperson of REFORM’s Board of Directors, congratulated Prof. Dr. Shaer on his appointment as President of the university and wished him success in his new role. She praised Al-Quds Open University’s significant contribution to shaping a thriving Palestinian society through its students.
Ms. Kishek also expressed her appreciation for the meaningful partnership between REFORM and the university, particularly in initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement in political and civic life across Palestinian universities. She highlighted the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding previously signed between them, emphasizing its critical role in advancing future collaboration and joint efforts to empower Palestinian youth.
