For the third consecutive year, REFORM celebrates New Year’s Eve “Palestinian Style III”
The Palestinian Association for Empowerment and Local Development- REFORM held a celebration entitled “Palestinian Style III” on New Year's Eve at the Innovation Hub. A large number of REFORM’s beneficiaries, young activists and Palestinian families from various social backgrounds and geographical areas participated in this celebration.
Mohammed Hamdan, a beneficiary of the REFORM’s program welcomed the audience and said that this evening comes within REFORM’s vision to promote social cohesion and solidarity among various components of the Palestinian society, bridge the gaps between them, and combat polarization on the basis of political affiliation, geography, gender and other considerations.
It is worth mentioning that REFORM implements this event on annual basis to provide safe and open spaces for young people and Palestinian families from marginalized areas, who do not have access to these activities or are not financially capable of participating in such celebrations. The evening included a number of events such as drawing a mural of Jerusalem, and playing oud music, which sheds light on the importance of Jerusalem for Palestinians.
This activity is part of the Innovation Hub project "Hand in Hand" which seeks to contribute to bridging the gaps between the various community components on both social and economic levels; 1) providing a safe and interactive platform to enable all members of different groups of society to participate in decision making processes, especially youth and women; 2) to improve their living conditions by developing untraditional production patterns, enhancing cooperation and partnership between targets groups, and increasing social responsibility of the private sector.
